Evin Craney is Chair of the Independent Brewers Association and Operations & Brand Manager at Bright Brewery. Having worked in independent beer since 2013, he has held senior roles across sales, brand, operations and industry advocacy. As IBA Chair, Evin works with brewers, government and industry partners across Australia to advocate for a stronger, more sustainable independent brewing sector, with a particular focus on market access, excise reform and recognising the economic and community value of Australian-owned breweries.
Australians now realise the remarkable fact that beer excise delivers more for the Australian Government than multinational gas exporters pay in Petroleum Resource Rent Tax. This is a ludicrous state of affairs. But other aspects of beer excise deserve just as much attention.
